Hello, everyone!
With Valentine’s only four days away, it’s time to get into the spirit of the season! We started celebrating early this year, with one romantic competition already in full effect and another one coming up soon! There’s still time to enter our Be my Valentine card contest for a chance to win a Banu Defender, Anvil Hornet Heartseeker, or MISC Reliant Tana. Share your love with that special someone, no matter how many star systems separate you!
The power of friendship is also strong with us this month; we’re currently revamping how friends, grouping, and in-game communications work. We take a closer look at the current system in this month’s infographic, before diving into the new system and catching a glimpse of the work-in-progress version in our latest episode of Inside Star Citizen.
But we don’t stop there! Find out what else is happening in our February with Friends article that provides an overview of what you can expect during the month of love.
Now, let’s see what’s going on this week: On Tuesday, the Narrative Team will publish The Meltdown, a short story set on microTech. We’ll also debut our first Pillar Talk of the year, looking ahead at what’s coming to the ‘verse in 2020! We filmed it last year at CitizenCon, but it’s all about what’s coming this year. As a side note, the 3.9 Pillar Talk will also be coming soon!
Wednesday will bring the SQ42 Monthly Report as a comm-link. The report highlights what the developers have been up to throughout January and was already sent to our Squadron 42 newsletter subscribers last week!
On Thursday, we’ll welcome a new episode of Inside Star Citizen, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the development of our Persistent Universe.
Friday will bring us updates to the Roadmaps and the Subscriber Vault, with the weekly newsletter delivered straight to your inbox. And finally, we’re looking forward to a new episode of Star Citizen Live, which will broadcast on our Star Citizen Twitch channel at 8am Pacific / 4pm UTC. We’ll be joined by Concept Artist Sarah McCullogh, who’ll be discussing the process of creating some of her previous concepts like the Star Runner and Pisces.
See you in the ‘verse!

Those who have ‘lost’ their ship can, thanks to insurance cover, re-claim it at a ship retrieval console. Touch the screen anywhere to begin and scroll to the lost vehicle. Within the Actions-column, press Claim and File a Claim to make use of your insurance on the next screen. As we all know, the mills of administration grind slowly. However, with some extra aUEC in your pocket, you can speed up the process by paying an Expedited Fee. That way, you’ll be back to the stars in no time! Community MVP: FEBRUARY 10TH, 2020
We are constantly amazed by the contributions made by the Star Citizen community. Whether it's fan art, a cinematic, YouTube guide, or even a 3D print of your favorite ship, we love it all! Every week, we select one piece of content submitted to the Community Hub and highlight it here. The highlighted content creator will be awarded an MVP badge on Spectrum and be immortalized in our MVP section of the Hub. Don’t forget to submit your content to our Community Hub for a chance at seeing it here!
Spaceship photography BY Topcat Topcat loves taking pictures in-game and just started using image editing software to add the final touches. "Not very professional but I hope you will enjoy it," he says. Topcat - those images are top-notch and you are this week's MVP!
