Happy Monday, everyone!
Ship Showdown has commenced! The amount of love and incredible creations for your favorite vehicles of the 'verse has been overwhelming to say the least, and every time we think we know how talented you all are, the bar is raised by your amazing work. Phase 1 isn't over yet, though! You still have a week to submit your creations before the end of the contest on August 29, so get those posts in for a chance to win a Hull A! For more details on Ship Showdown, Phase 1, and the contest rules, head over to the Ship Showdown landing page.
We're also planning on deploying a hotfix to the Live servers this week! This is to address both the ongoing issues with our Long Term Persistence database as well as other bugs currently plaguing 3.17.2. For more details, check out today's Spectrum announcement.
Now, let's see what's going on this week:
This Tuesday, the Narrative team answers your questions about botany, architectural works of wonder, what to expect in Nyx, and more in this edition of Loremakers: Community Questions.
Thursday, we’re back with another episode of Inside Star Citizen. This week, we'll get an update on the Cave Archetypes feature set from the EU Sandbox 2 Team as they set out to add a new type of cave in Alpha 3.18. Plus, Todd Papy stops by to discuss the earliest steps in designing a NEW New Player Experience for the game coming in the new year.
Also on Thursday, get ready for mayhem during another round of Jumptown! The Dynamic Event will kick off once again this Thursday at 6pm Pacific, and will run through Monday. What's better than one weekend of Jumptown? Two of course! We plan to run Jumptown again the weekend of September 2nd as well. Grab your gear, load up your ships, and get ready to clash! Keep an eye out for the full detailed schedule going live later this week.
UPDATE: We managed to squeeze in one additional hotfix to improve stability further. In order to get this tested and deployed, we're moving the start of Jumptown weekend to Friday, August 26 at 3pm Pacific / 10pm UTC.
On Friday, you’ll receive an update to the Subscriber Vault and the weekly RSI Newsletter delivered straight to your inbox. There won't be an episode of Star Citizen Live this week as the team will be traveling to Gamescom! We'll be attending TWO Bar Citizens this week in Cologne, so check out the Bar Citizen Comm-link for details if you'd like to attend.
Have a fantastic week, and Happy Ship Showdown!
