Ellis I is a protoplanet in the Ellis system, United Empire of Earth (UEE). Its scorched surface is dotted with lakes of bubbling lava. Exploration attempts of Ellis I have so far been impossible due to the protoplanet's proximity to the sun. In SEY 2799, Dab Demirjian became the first person to successfully land a piloted spacecraft on Ellis I by using specialized shielding he developed himself; however, the shielding failed after seven minutes, and Demirijan perished when his ship melted under the sun's unrelenting radiation.
