The Oretani belt alpha is an asteroid belt in the lost Oretani system. When Turiya Terraforming surveyors discovered that many of the asteroids were rich in nitrogen, they established numerous agricultural stations to grow food for the thousands of workers living in space stations around Oretani II. When the only jump point collapsed in SEY 2485, many were hopeful that these farms could help those stranded in the system survive.
